Already Two!

I can't believe he is two already. Look at how big he is! Jake turned two March 14th and we were so lucky to have the whole family here for the party! We decided on Mickey Mouse after much debate between him and Mater! I thought it would be a good prep to the Disney cruise in May! I don't know what it is about making birthday cakes but I love it! We modified one I found online and in my opinion it looks a lot better.

A little improv sometimes goes a long way!

This is the one and only time he put them on and Grandpa even got a picture! You finally got another bike Jake! I ran over his bike he got last year for his birthday and we just improvised with the wagon. Needless to say every one year old needs a bike so they don't expect you to just push or pull them around. Its the perfect size and a good price from WallyWorld. Now I just have to convince him he can ride it instead of walking or getting pulled everywhere. He was a little possessive in this picture. Who wouldn't be though with 5 cousins wanting a turn!

Everyone was so generous to give him so much, he plays with it all and loves to let you know he got it for his day. We even flew the kite! Thanks to Cedar wind you can always count on in the spring. Isn't that the best picture! Relaxing in his new chair, with cars in hand! Life couldn't get better. Jake we love you so much. What a funny little guy you are with so much personality, it's not hard to tell how or what you are feeling because its always on your face. You are a sweetheart to your mommy and you always make me laugh even when I want to get mad at you! You are also your brother's best friend and you always make him laugh too! Its so fun now that you are pretending, you two fight the bad guys better than anyone else and you always save princess mom from the dragon! I love you! Happy number Two!

Salt Lake Trip

We went up North a couple of weeks ago to see the fam, watch CHS play for state, and our little nephew Cooper was blessed! We stopped in SLC to show our friend from Brazil the sights and such. It was fun to take the boys to all the visitor centers and teach them. We even took a tour of the conference center and it was awesome! They explained all the amazing artwork which I love to learn about. We had a good time. The CHS boys did good, we were hoping they would go all the way but fourth is never bad out of the whole state. Cooper's blessing was great, good job Mitch. The food was great Cami! Thanks for letting me help, I love cooking with family and friends! Especially when its sweet stuff like cinnamon rolls and orange rolls. By the way Mom, where is the recipe you were promising I need to practice!

Isn't just amazing that clear back then they made such beautiful things, so much inspiration!
What a cool pic! Nice photography Tiago! I get emotional every time I go in here and even more when I am telling the boys about the atonement and our Savior!

O! Bummer, I thought this turned out better! The star was amazing! So bright!

Swimming Lessons

We have been taking private swimming lessons this year and what a huge difference it has made with the boys. They were great from the first, granted we have our spats of not cooperating well, but they have learned so much. Jaxon last summer would not let go of you even in his lifejacket, which was so awkward. He finally got over that at the end of the summer and has been a great swimmer ever since. He has learned a lot. He is practicing using his arms in the front stroke and is great at the backstroke. He loves to dive down to the bottom and get rockets off the bottom of the pool. His floating has improved he still gets nervous when she lets go but he can float all alone if he holds still. Today he even swam out and flipped onto his back and floated all by himself!

Jake is a little daredevil and will do whateve his brother does. His feet never stop kicking and he is always good to listen to his teacher. He talks about swimming lessons and his teacher in the tub and teaches the duck and bear how to float and kick. So cute. He is a good floater and he is just learning to use his arms, its such a hard movement to get down and kick at the same time. She teaches them to grab the side of the pool and hold on too. She will turn him with his back facing the wall, like he just fell in and then he turns towards the wall and pulls up. Such a smart thing to teach them. We have one more week and hopefully they will keep doing all these move with Jeff and I.
How many times do we have to count to three?

Great swimmer!

He looks dead in the picture but I promise we keep good tabs on him.

These are their backpacks their teacher gave them, so cute!

A little Sooner...

So I went into the doctor today for my first appointment and found out something new. Dr. Sanders is great and he gave us an ultrasound, which is so nice to see the baby and know its really there and not all in my mind. And to put to rest Blake's insistence that we are having twins. We are only having one baby thank goodnes, I'm not as good as you are Dani! I don't know how you do it. The new we found out though is I am already 12 weeks along on Wednesday. So he moved the due date up to September 23rd! Great news for us! Everything looks great and we will scan the pics in soon.

Anything to Entertain Ourselves

You can't get better than this, the only thing missing was the bow and arrow they had to put down. All sorts of treasures in a closet.

These two are the best helpers when it comes to planting things and dirt.
This was the only shovel that would do!

Planted and ready for the sun!

What else can you do in these long winter months with two highly energetic boys and a dying for spring mother? You do strange things and just keep praying spring will come! We have been waiting for spring to come obviously so we could plant these cute pots and seeds Grandpa and Grandma Squires gave the boys. With the short amount of sun we had a couple of days ago. We did it and they are starting to sprout already! We also have been in the process of moving Jake in with Jaxon. So we started with the closet first and had to take it all out before we could put it all in. Thankfully the boys were throughly entertained with all the treasures we found. Its all done and now we just need to get two new mattresses and box springs. Thirty years of use and lots of jumping makes them a little less than comfortable for sleeping. The wood underneath is halfway on the floor. But who can complain when you get them for free! Thanks Bev and Joe, you are the best!

Palm Springs

This is Jeff with only 10 miles left and dying of heat

Jaxon actually took this picture! Future photographer I would say!

Just heading out into the sunshine, sure wish he had those glasses, even at 7am!

Another one of Jaxon's pics. This is what we did most of the time, who wouldn't right!

This is how we entertained them on our 9 hour drive. Oreos, movies and drinks. What more could you want!

We went to Palm Springs to try and escape the cold weather and it was great. Not 80 degrees like we were hoping, but so nice. Jeff did his first 100 mile bike ride of the new year and did so awesome, only six hours on the bike and 1hour total at all the stops. Not bad eh? All I can say is who wants to sit on a bike for that long, right?! We brought Jeff's friend Tiago with us so he could see more of the U.S. If you didn't know he is from Brazil and is staying at Jeff's parents, they are wonderful! He is hear to learn English and is attending SUU. He is great with the kids and was such a big help the whole day Jeff was riding and especially in the car. The drive down took 9 awfully long hours thanks to an accident on the freeway in Cali. Needless to say we made it there with a very sick Melina and movie-zoned children. We swam most of the day Friday and went into town. The mountains surrounding Palm Springs are huge and beautiful covered with snow. Saturday Jeff left at 7am and started biking. Unlucky for him, he forgot his sunglasses! So when I got the boys ready and fed we tried to catch up with him at a stop, but with 5000 bikers there was no chance. The road crossed this tiny bridge over the freeway and it was packed with bikers. We met Jeff when he had about 10 miles left and he was doing great, squinty eyes and all. He finished and we went back to the pool and swam more, six hours total on just Saturday. We ate at this nice Brazilian restaurant for V-day and just relaxed. Sunday we stopped in Vegas to show Tiago and he was like anyone else who sees it for the first time, Awstruck! We made it home, me very thankful to be out of the car and amazing Jeff who wasn't even too sore. What a man! Great Job Honey, we love you!

The Word if Out!

Just in case you were wondering what the word is? We are expecting number three! I am so so excited, I have been ready for another one for about 6 months or so. It never seems to happen when your expecting it for sure! I am due October 2, 2009. Not looking forward to being prego all through the entire summer. If you were unlucky enough to see me when I was prego with Jaxon(who was born in July) I get super swollen and summer is not the best time for me to be pregnant, but we are happy just to have another one. So far I have been so sick and have been trying to hide it from everyone. Now I can just keep that sick face on and you will know why. Maybe its a sign its a girl because I have been sick 24/7 no joke. Food only helps for about a half and hour. And I can't eat that often, then I'll really be in trouble. I am not the 35 lb. weight gain max. More like 50 lbs. at least. Sad but I guess that's the price I pay for an adorable baby. I would love any tips on keeping my food down and dealing with this sickness. My other two were a breeze compared to this! Good luck is all you can say, right!?
